BIO

Vanessa Hollis, a self inspired entrepreneur and burgeoning young author, born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has always had a dream of writing stories. The oldest of 7 sisters and 2 brothers, Vanessa and a former First Runner-Up of the Ms. North Tulsa pageant, she showed early signs of creativity through drawing and directing self written stage plays by creating stories from an over active imagination. 

Vanessa worked 11 years in the insurance industry before deciding to move to Austin, Texas, where her literary journey found its start.  She established her company, Teardrops Publishing during that time; because her life motto is “You have to think bigger than yourself”.  Hence her newest adventure Mocha City Café and Books.

She completed her first self published novel, LOVE IN MY TEARDROPS in 2005, and having more to say; continued the story with a sequel titled WHEN MY TEARS CRY. 

With zeal to hone her craft, Vanessa is in the process of completing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Kaplan University, where being on the Deans Honor Roll was no stranger to her.

Redirecting her focus from publishing other authors and back on her personal writing, Vanessa latest offering, “MARRIED TO A SINGLE MAN” released June 2010 received critical praise causing her star to continue its ascension.     She is currently publishing other authors, as well as writing the autobiography of Ronnie Wilson, founder and member of the former famed R & B group, The Gap Band and will soon release her first children’s book, THE GIMMY GUMMY YUMMY DROPS GANG.  Her publishing company Teardrops will soon release, THE HOW TO BOOK OF GETTING PUBLISHED, JUDGING CHEYENNE’S SHADOW AND TEARS OF KATRINA, just to name a few.
